Case Study

Palais Coburg

The five-star Superior hotel in the historic centre of Vienna resides in a palace, which was constructed by the Saxe-Coburg aristocratic family in 1845. Whether it be the imperial ceiling heights, stucco ceilings, precious wall coverings, gilding or historical furnishings, when fitting the interior of the neoclassical palace, the developer attached great importance to creating a premium reproduction that was true to the original style and showed great attention to detail.

At the same time, the facilities needed to be modern and contemporary. No two suites are identical. Each has its own distinctive layout and individual style – modern, historical or a blend of the two. In accordance with the POK Pühringer Foundation’s vision, List GC created, delivered and fitted the individual interiors of all 34 luxury suites.

Preserving the past while shaping the future

“With the restoration and restructuring of Palais Coburg into a five-star Superior hotel, we set about a very large and challenging project. Given the fact that it is a listed building, the rooms are not the same size, the suites are predominantly on two floors, the latest technology was to be incorporated and, added to this, the pressure of a timely opening, this meant that there was a lot of hard work and sweat.
List GC accepted the challenge and implemented our requests and strict requirements as best possible. It is thanks to their specialists, who have attended to Palais Coburg’s facilities with a great deal of passion, that his magnificent house could be shaped into its current form.
Following our credo of “preserving the past while shaping the future”, every day we are pleased with our foundation’s headquarters at this unique and wonderful palace in the heart of Vienna.”, Karin Pühringer – POK Pühringer Foundation
